Senior Karly Hellstrom was named Academic All-District as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
Hellstrom, the redshirt senior forward from Sudbury, Ontario, received this prestigious award after posting a 3.92 GPA in her classes. As an exercise science major, Hellstrom has paired that academic excellence with stellar play on the field, finishing first in Mid-American Conference assists this season with 11 and third in points with 25.
Hellstrom now advances to the Academic All-American ballot.

Men’s and Women’s Hoops Head to Sunshine State
The Golden Flashes men’s and women’s basketball teams head to Florida over Thanksgiving to participate in a pair of holiday tournaments.
The men’s team starts the week with the Naples Invitational. The Flashes open with James Madison on Monday, Nov. 22 at noon EST, the first of three games in three days.
The women will get started on Friday, Nov. 26 at 1:30 p.m. as part of the Gulf Coast Showcase. Kent State will open against UCLA to start the tournament, which also has a three games in three days format.
Streams for both tournaments will be provided by FloSports with radio coverage for both tournaments
