Montre Miller broke up Miami's two-point conversion in overtime, and the Flashes knocked off Miami 48-47 to capture the Mid-American Conference East Division, a feat they last accomplished in 2012.
For the championship, the Flashes will face a familiar foe, Northern Illinois, who we beat this season with a score of 52-47.

Women’s Basketball Shines in Sunshine State
After nearly 11 years between wins against Power 5 opponents, the women’s basketball program (5-1) earned their second such win in a three-day span. The Golden Flashes knocked off Penn State in the third-place game on Sunday after previously beating No. 19 UCLA on Friday in the Gulf Coast Showcase in Estero, Fla. Congratulations and #FlytheFlag!

Kent State Alumni will be hosting a pre-game tailgate brunch at the Gridiron Club at Ford Field in advance of Saturday’s championship game. Ticket packages are available for $50, and that includes your ticket to the game as well as the family-friendly brunch with food, drinks and plenty of fun with the Kent State faithful. The tailgate runs from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. in advance of the noon kickoff.
Limited Tickets Are on Sale for Dec. 12 Men's Basketball Game at WVU
Limited tickets are available for the Kent State Men’s Basketball game at West Virginia on Sunday, Dec. 12, at 4 p.m. Tickets are $30 a piece and can only be ordered by calling the Kent State ticket office at 330-672-4455. Tickets will be on sale until noon on Friday, Dec. 10. Any tickets purchased can be picked up at will call at West Virginia on game day.

Flashes Mourn the Passing of Dick Kotis
The Golden Flash family is sad to announce the loss of longtime Varsity “K” Club member Richard “Dick” Kotis who passed away Nov. 21, 2021 at the age of 95. A 1948 graduate of Kent State, Dick played three seasons for the Golden Flashes from 1946 through 1948 and coached football and basketball from 1951-57.
After his coaching career ended, Dick became a lifelong Golden Flashes fan and supporter. He was a lifetime member of the Kent State University Alumni Association, a member of the President’s Club, and a member of the Blue and Gold and Varsity “K” Clubs. He was named Varsity “K “ Person of the Year in 1997.
