For the 20th consecutive semester, the Kent State Athletic Department has posted a cumulative term grade-point average (GPA) above 3.0. With a GPA of 3.4 or higher, 216 student-athletes earned Dean’s List status, as Kent State student-athletes made a near seamless transition back to in-person learning this semester.
Coach “Sendy” Picks Up MAC Win 100
Kent State men’s basketball coach Rob Senderoff picked up MAC career win number 100 as the Flashes used suffocating defense in a 66-63 home victory over Toledo on New Year’s Day.
With the victory, Senderoff became the 12th coach in conference history to reach 100 wins. He is the second Kent State coach to reach the milestone, joining Varsity ‘K’ Hall of Famer Jim Christian. Senderoff is the only one to reach the milestone entirely at Kent State.
The Golden Flashes are on national television this week as they take on the Ohio Bobcats in Athens on Friday night. Tipoff is set for 6:30 p.m. on CBS Sports Network. The Flashes return home next Tuesday to host Northern Illinois with a 7 p.m. tipoff from the MACC.

Baseball Releases 2022 Schedule
Kent State released an exciting and challenging 2022 schedule that features 26 home contests at Schoonover Stadium. Season tickets for the Golden Flashes baseball season will be on sale later this month. Read more below for a full look at the 2022 season schedule.
Flashes Set to Host Pair of Mid-week Games
Come cheer on your Golden Flashes as the Kent State women’s basketball team returns home for a pair of mid-week games, hosting Akron on Wednesday, Jan. 5 and Bowling Green on Wednesday, Jan. 12. Both games start at 7 p.m.
Wrestling Hosts Cleveland State in Home Opener
Kent State opens its 2022 home slate with a conference rivalry with Cleveland State on Jan. 9. The match starts at noon inside the MACC. The Golden Flashes are coming off an impressive 30-6 victory over Edinboro on Dec. 21, closing the 2021 calendar year in style. Kent State is 1-1 in Mid-American Conference duals, and this will be the MAC opener for the Vikings.
Tickets to the dual are available through the Kent State ticket office. The match will also be streamed via Box Cast.

Golden Flashes Mourn Passing of Olympian and Varsity ‘K’ Hall of Famer Jud Logan
The Kent State University athletic department mourns the passing of former men's track and field and football student-athlete Jud Logan ‘82, who passed away on Monday.
Inducted into the
Varsity “K” Hall of Fame in 1990, Logan was a four-year letterwinner in track and field (1978-81) and one-year letterwinner in football (1978). He qualified for the NCAA Championships in 1980 after being selected as the Mid-American Conference Outstanding Athlete. Logan captured three individual MAC titles, winning the hammer throw in 1979 and 1980 and the discus throw in 1980. Most recently, he served as the Head Track & Field Coach at Ashland University.
