Kent State Places Third and Fourth at MAC Indoor Championships
The Kent State track and field programs finished third on the men’s side and fourth on the women’s side at the 2021 MAC Indoor Championships hosted by Kent State last weekend.
Jake Wickey on the men’s team captured his FOURTH indoor title in the weighted throw with a mark of 73 feet and 11 inches. Wickey was joined by a pair of Eastern Michigan throwers in the NCAA top-five, but it was Wickey who claimed the crown and punched a ticket to the NCAA indoor championships.
On the women’s team, Mi’Angel Daniels won the 60-meter hurdles in a photo finish, edging a runner by six-thousandths of a second to claim the crown. Pole vaulter Leah Pasqualetti needed just three attempts to capture her second-straight indoor crown, clearing a height of 13 feet, 8.25 inches.

Kent State will travel to Athens this weekend for the MAC Championships on March 4 and 5 at Ohio University. Kent State will feature a trio of wrestlers ranked in the top-33 in RPI at their respective weights.
Jake Ferri is ranked 23rd at 125 pounds, the second highest in the MAC and one of seven MAC wrestlers ranked in what looks to be a loaded field. Brendon Fenton is ranked 30th at 133 pounds and is one of three ranked MAC wrestlers and Colin McCracken sits 29th at 184 pounds, one of four MAC wrestlers to hold a ranking coming into the championships.
Ohio will have a live stream and live stats available all weekend.
