Wickey Finishes Second at NCAA Indoor Track Nationals
Redshirt senior Jake Wickey finished second in the men's weight throw at the 2022 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships.
Wickey's throw of 75'-8.75" on his fifth attempt of the competition secured a runner-up finish, which is the best by a Kent State thrower in the event since Jacques Accambray won his second national title in 1974.
"We are extremely proud of Jake and all of his accomplishments," said Director of Track and Field and Cross Country Bill Lawson. "Representing Kent State on the biggest stage of his athletic career is priceless. Nathan Fanger once again proves himself as one of the best coaches in the NCAA. It is simply a great moment for Jake and Kent State University. Congratulations Jake and Coach Fanger!"
