Kent State surged ahead during Sunday’s back nine and captured its sixth straight men’s golf MAC title by three strokes over Toledo. Josh Gilkison drained a birdie putt on the 18th to secure the win and received the individual title on the second playoff hole.
Women’s Golf Heads to Vanderbilt Region, Clean Up Post Season Awards
Kent State is the eighth seed at the 2022 Vanderbilt Regional, set to begin play on Monday, May 9. The Flashes are one of eight teams seeded in the top-50 in the regional.
Emily Price earned the Mid-American Conference’s Golfer of the Year Award and Jennifer Gu was named Freshman of the Year, highlighting five postseason awards earned by the Flashes.

Softball Celebrates Devine Weekend
The Kent State Softball program celebrated upcoming renovations to its softball facility on Saturday afternoon. Longtime Kent State Athletics ambassador and supporter Judy Devine was honored for her continued impact on and support of women's athletics and gender equity at the university. Devine's generosity will allow facility upgrades to be made during the offseason, and the field will be renamed Devine Diamond in her honor.
Lacrosse Clinches Postseason Berth With Win at Detroit
Jackie Wolford set a program record with her 40th goal of the season and the Flashes defeated Detroit Mercy 16-15 in a de facto play-in game for the MAC Tournament. The victory sends Kent State to the postseason for the first time in program history as they take on Central Michigan on Thursday afternoon.
Kent State Faces Ohio State Wednesday; 2012 Reunion Set for Saturday
Kent State starts the week with an in-state matchup against the Ohio State Buckeyes on Wednesday at 6 p.m. EDT. It will be a busy weekend for the Flashes who will take on league-leading Ball State, hold their on-field graduation on Friday, welcome back the 2012 College World Series team on Saturday and host their Mother’s Day celebration on Sunday.
Crum Signs With Chiefs, Abram to the Jets Following NFL Draft
A pair of Golden Flashes signed undrafted free agency deals following last weekend’s NFL Draft. Quarterback Dustin Crum inked a deal with Kansas City while Keshunn Abram is headed to the New York Jets. Crum exits Kent State as one of the most decorated players in program history, and Keshunn Abram was one of Crum's most trusted targets in the 2022 season.
