Kent State student-athletes Colin McCracken and Cameron Shedenhelm have earned the Mid-American Conference's Medal of Excellence, as announced for the 2021-22 academic year.
The Medal of Excellence is presented annually to one male and one female student-athlete from the graduating class of each of the 12 Conference member institutions. Each school chooses a male and female student-athlete that exhibits excellence in their sport and in the classroom. A minimum 3.50 grade point average is required for eligibility.

Women’s Golf Competes at the Vanderbilt Regional
Kent State Women’s Golf traveled to Vanderbilt Legends Club in Franklin, Tennessee this week for the 2022 NCAA Regional Golf Championships. The no. 8 seed Golden Flashes competed in the 12-team regional against top-25 national programs such as Wake Forest, Alabama and Duke. The Golden Flashes finished in 11th place, concluding their season.
Softball Senior Day and Season Wrap-Up
It was a memorable Senior Day at the Devine Diamond as Kent State's seven softball student-athletes playing in their final collegiate game combined for 10 hits, including a walk-off double in the sixth inning by Brooklyn Whitt, in an 8-0 victory over Bowling Green to end the 2022 season on a winning note.
The Golden Flashes (20-28, 11-17 MAC) scored in all six innings to take the rubber match from the Falcons and earn their fifth Mid-American Conference series victory as they wrapped the 2022 season.
Flashes Win Eight Events at WVU Last Chance
The Kent State Track and Field teams combined for eight event titles in the final competition before the conference meet on Saturday at the WVU Last Chance.
Men’s Golf Team Headed to Norman Regional
It was announced on Wednesday that the Kent State Men's Golf team would be the 10-seed at this year's NCAA Norman Regional which will be held May 16-18.
2012 Men’s Baseball Team Recognized
On Saturday, May 7, Kent State Baseball and The Golden Flashes Club welcomed back the 2012 MAC Champions, NCAA Regional and Super Champions and College World Series team to Schoonover Stadium. The Golden Flashes hosted and fell to the Ball State Cardinals, but having the 2012 team back at Schoonover was a welcomed sight.
