Flashes Claim First Men’s MAC Outdoor Title Since 2004
Kent State University Men's Track and Field added 110 points to its score on Saturday for a total of 196 points at the 2022 Mid-American Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
The Golden Flashes outshone the competition with 41 more points than runner-up Eastern Michigan, capturing the outdoor title for the first time in 18 years. The victory was also the first men's outdoor championship under the leadership of Director of Track and Field and Cross Country Bill Lawson who was named MAC Coach of the Year this past weekend.

Softball’s Scali Named Nan Harvey Award Winner, Five Named All-MAC
Andrea Scali is Kent State's third recipient of the Nan Harvey Award, which is given annually to a MAC softball student-athlete who demonstrates the type of commitment, leadership, toughness and tenacious attitude that Harvey, an integral part of the University at Buffalo family for two decades, epitomized. Scali was also named second-team all-conference and was joined by Jessica LeBeau and Madison Hershberger as All-MAC Second Team selections, while Kylie Ringler and Savannah Wing were voted to the MAC All-Freshman Team.
Flashes Erupt for 52 Runs Over Weekend, Five-Game Homestand to Close Regular Season
Kent State took three of four games from host Western Michigan over the weekend, scoring 12 or more runs in each of the victories. The Flashes will close regular season play with senior day on Saturday against Eastern Michigan. Tickets are still available for each of the five games this week.
Women’s Track and Field Finishes Second at MAC Outdoor Championships
Kent State's women concluded competition Saturday at the 2022 Mid-American Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships with 110 points, their most at the meet since 2017, for a second-place finish. The Flashes will continue postseason competition with qualifying student-athletes in action at the NCAA East Preliminary Bloomington from May 25-28.
Women’s Golf Season Concludes At Franklin Regional
Kent State finished in 10th place at the 2022 Franklin Regional, hosted by Vanderbilt, concluding a stellar 2022 campaign. Senior Emily Price paced the Flashes, finishing in a tie for 15th after shooting an even par 216 over the three rounds.
Men’s Golf Heads to Oklahoma For Norman Regional
The Mid-American Conference champion Kent State Men’s Golf team is one of five conference champions to compete in the Norman regional, hosted by Oklahoma.
