Bill Lawson to Retire at Season’s End
Director of Track and Field/Cross Country Bill Lawson announced on Monday afternoon that he will retire from Kent State following the end of the 2021-22 season. Lawson will continue to lead the Golden Flashes at upcoming NCAA competitions.

Kent State Claims Back-to-Back Jacoby Awards
For the second consecutive year and 11th time overall, Kent State has been honored by the Mid-American Conference (MAC) with the Jacoby Trophy, given annually to the top women's athletic program within the conference.
Student-Athletes Set Multiple Records in Spring Semester
Kent State student-athletes finished off another impressive semester in the classroom as the department posted the third-highest spring term GPA in recorded history and the highest in traditional grading periods.
The Golden Flashes posted a term GPA of 3.263 and a cumulative department GPA of 3.306. This is the 21st consecutive term of 3.0+ cumulative department GPA and the 20th consecutive 3.0+ term GPA.

Fernsler Earns Academic All-District Honors
Kent State goalkeeper Azure Fernsler has been named to the Academic All-District Women's At-Large First Team for District 5, the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced on Thursday.
Men’s Golf Wraps Up Season at Norman Regional
The Kent State Men's Golf team concluded its 2021-22 campaign with an 11th place finish at this year's Norman Regional, moving up on the final two days, but failing to overcome a rough opening round.
Flashes Baseball Honor Seniors, Takes Three of Four From Eastern Michigan
The Golden Flashes displayed tremendous pitching and timely hitting, taking three of the four games against Eastern Michigan to close the regular season. The Flashes honored their eight-man senior class prior to Saturday’s season finale. Additionally, Kent State lefty Ben Cruikshank tossed a complete game and one-hit shutout in Friday’s 5-0 win. Cruikshank was named MAC Pitcher of the Week for his efforts.
Baseball Lands Four on All-MAC Team
Four players earned postseason accolades from the MAC baseball coaches, starting with outfielder Justin Kirby who earned first-team All-MAC honors.
Kirby is joined by shortstop Mike McNamara and outfielder Josh Johnson who took home second-team honors and catcher Justin Miknis was named to the all-defensive team.
