Kent State Athletics Invites You to Join the Varsity “K” Hall of Fame Class of 2022

Kent State Athletics will honor nine members as part of the 43rd induction ceremony Friday, Sept. 16. You can visit the Varsity “K” Hall of Fame homepage for more information and to register. We hope you’ll join us to celebrate this terrific class and stay in town to cheer on FlashFAST football against Long Island University at noon on Saturday.

Kent State Partners with Opendorse for NIL Platform

Kent State Athletics has partnered with Opendorse, an industry leader in the Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) space, to create an all-in-one NIL platform for the department.

Through an online hub and mobile app, Opendorse provides the technology and services to provide student-athletes and staff with compliance resources, content and educational tools that will be used in the developing NIL landscape.

Football Open Scrimmage Tonight

Get to Know Andrew Hammond: Athletic Ticket Office Manager
 
Andrew Hammond joined the Golden Flashes a year ago as the director of ticketing prior to the 2021-22 season.

Hammond joined Kent State from Blossom Music Center where he had worked since 2013. He also worked for the University of Akron Zips Athletic Department while earning his bachelor's and master's degrees, serving as a ticket sales operations associate and game day associate for four seasons.

A native of Kent, Ohio, Hammond is also a Theodore Roosevelt High School graduate.

Soccer Opens 2022 Season with Two Home Games
 
Kent State Soccer, celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, kicked off its season this past week by hosting Cleveland State Thursday night and Oakland University on Sunday at Dix Stadium.

The Golden Flashes tied Cleveland State 1-1 and fell to Oakland 2-0 to start the season.

Volleyball Season Tickets Now On Sale!
 
Kent State fans had their first opportunity to see the team in action under new Head Coach Haley Eckerman at the annual Blue and Gold Scrimmage Saturday, Aug. 20.

The home schedule begins with the Kent State Invitational when the Flashes play Southern Indiana Friday, Sept. 2.

Men’s Hoops Go 3-0 on Australia Tour
 
The Kent State Men’s Basketball team spent the early part of August touring Australia and went 3-0 against three Australian Basketball League teams. Check out the highlights from the trip.

Field Hockey Polls Second Prior to Season Start this Weekend
 
Kent State got a first-place vote and trails only Miami University in the 2022 pre-season field hockey poll. The Flashes will open the regular season this Friday at Indiana and will face national runner-up Liberty in a neutral site game Saturday.

Harris Named to Hermann Trophy Watch List, Flashes Start 2022 Campaign

Kent State Soccer defender Tianna Harris has been named to the Hermann Trophy Watch List, given annually to the nation’s top soccer player. Harris is the reigning Mid-American Conference Defensive Player of the Year and was named first-team All-MAC and All-Region last season. She picked up where she left off in the season opener, recording an assist in the opening night 1-1 draw with Cleveland State.

The Flashes are on the road this weekend at Dayton on Sunday with a 1 p.m. kickoff.
