Many Golden Flash student-athletes will be eligible for additional educational benefits with the announcement of the Ready FLASH (For Life After Sport Holistically) program that will launch in the fall of 2023. Kent State will be the first Mid-American Conference school to offer such benefits after the 2021 U.S. Supreme Court ruling in the NCAA vs. Alston case.

Soccer Continues MAC Play with Two Important Matches This Week
The Golden Flashes knocked off Eastern Michigan 4-2 last week and drew 1-1 with Miami University on Senior Day. The Flashes sit (3-1-2) in MAC play as they host Bowling Green, who is also (3-1-2), Thursday night at 7 p.m. and travel to Northern Illinois Saturday.
First Place Field Hockey Wins Big, Set to Host Nationally Ranked Penn State
Kent State blitzed Central Michigan 5-0 on Senior Day to move to 4-0 in MAC play. A critical game at MAC-favorite Miami University awaits Friday before a home tilt with nationally ranked Penn State on Sunday.
Matthews Achieves 1,000 Career Kills Friday at CMU
Senior Savannah Matthews became the 15th member of Kent State's 1,000-kills club Friday evening during a 3-0 (15-25, 13-25, 23-25) setback at Central Michigan.
Matthews led the Golden Flashes (10-6, 1-4 MAC) in nearly every statistical category with 15.5 points, 13 kills, 13 digs, three blocks and one service ace. Freshman Mia Soerensen added nine kills and graduate student Alex Haffner logged a double-double with 22 assists and 10 digs.
Big Road Test Ahead Before Flashes Return Home for Wagon Wheel Game
The Golden Flashes' comeback came up three points shy last Saturday afternoon in a 27-24 setback to the Miami RedHawks.
Kent State remains on the road next weekend, traveling to take on the west division leading Toledo Rockets Saturday at 3:30 p.m. on ESPN+.
The Golden Flashes will return home to play TSDTR (Akron) Saturday, Oct. 22. Kickoff has been announced for noon.
Trio of Men’s Basketball Games Flexed to National TV
Three of the Golden Flashes’ January conference games have been picked up by national television, as announced by the Mid-American Conference. The televised games include one road contest versus Ohio Bobcats Friday, Jan. 13, a home matchup with the Ball State Cardinals Friday, Jan. 20, and another home game against the Buffalo Bulls Friday, Jan. 27.

Season ticket packages for the 2022-23 men’s and women’s basketball seasons are now available through the Kent State Ticket Office. This season, we are offering general admission ticket plans for Kent State faculty and staff for both men’s and women’s basketball.
