Flashes Defend Wagon Wheel

Devontez Walker became the first Golden Flash with two receiving touchdowns and a rushing touchdown in one game, helping true freshman Devin Kargman and an attacking defense defend the Wagon Wheel trophy in a 33-27 win against Akron on Saturday. The Golden Flashes have now won the Wagon Wheel four straight seasons, the longest streak in program history since 1954.

Halloweekent Kicks Off Busy Week

The Golden Flashes are excited to host Halloweekent starting today with a special edition of the FlashTalk Coaches’ show at Water Street Tavern at 5:30 p.m. The full list of Halloweekent events is as follows:

Wednesday, Oct. 26:
Coaches Show at Water Street - 5:30 p.m.

Thursday, Oct. 27:
Women’s Soccer vs. Buffalo - 3 p.m.
Basketball Preseason Showcase: Doors open at 6:30 p.m.; Trick or Treat until the event starts at 7:30 p.m

Friday, Oct. 28:
Field Hockey vs. Bellarmine - 3 p.m.
Volleyball vs. NIU - 6 p.m.

Saturday, Oct. 29:
Volleyball vs. WMU - 4 p.m.

Tuesday, Nov. 1:
Football vs. Ball State - 7 p.m.

Flashes Outlast Longwood, Clinch Spot in MAC Tournament
 
The Golden Flashes knocked off Longwood, 3-2 in penalty strokes, moving them to 5-1 in conference play and securing a spot in the Mid-American Conference tournament. The Flashes wrap up their home schedule on Friday, hosting Bellarmine at 3 p.m. at Murphy Mellis Field.

Harris’ Sunday Heroics Sets Up Crucial Regular Season Finale
 
Tianna Harris scored a pair of second half goals, helping Kent State earn a key 2-2 draw at Central Michigan on Sunday. The point sets up a huge regular season finale against conference-leading Buffalo. Depending on the result, the Flashes can finish anywhere between second and seventh in the MAC standings.

Basketball Preseason Showcase Set for Thursday (Halloween ’n Hoops)
 
The Golden Flashes men's and women's basketball teams get their 2022-23 season started Thursday, Oct. 27, for their annual preseason showcase, Hoops and Halloween as part of Halloweekent for the Golden Flashes.

MACtion Set to Begin Nov. 1
 
Kent State will host Ball State Tuesday, Nov. 1, at 7 p.m. on ESPNU, officially kicking off the MACtion. Take advantage of the Battle of the Birds deal, offering chair back seats to the Ball State and Eastern Michigan (Nov. 16) games for $25 dollars.
