Starting at midnight, make a gift to each of your favorite sports teams, as the earlier you give, the more likely your gifts are to be matched. The university has $100,000 in matching funds available until the money runs out!

We are excited to announce the 11th Annual Athletics Scholarship Auction will be Friday, April 21, 2023.
The Golden Flashes Club is also thrilled to share that Varsity “K” Hall of Famer Nick Nemeth, ’03, will be the guest of honor and football alumnus Kent Cleveland, ’12, MA ’13, will be helping to host.
Nemeth graduated as Kent State's career leader in victories and was just the third wrestler in program history to be a four-time NCAA qualifier. He was a three-time MAC champion and four-time MAC finalist. As a senior, he helped the Golden Flashes to a MAC regular season title. Known now by many as Dolph Ziggler, Nemeth has reached superstar status in the WWE.
Ba Runs Well in NCAA Cross Country Championships Debut
Sophomore Baidy Ba placed 126th at the 2022 NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships on Saturday, Nov. 19, at The Greiner Family OSU Cross Country Course.
Ba's finish is the best by a Kent State runner since Jim Loveless ’92, MA ’94, placed 19th in 1991. Ba crossed the finish line in 30:26.1, the second fastest 10K time in Kent State Cross Country history, only behind his record-setting performance at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Championships on Nov. 11.
Hauser's Go-Ahead Layup Takes Down Unbeaten Oklahoma State
Corynne Hauser hit a go-ahead layup with 4.7 seconds to play, helping Kent State to a 59-56 win over Oklahoma State on Sunday afternoon at the historic Gallagher-Iba Arena.
The Golden Flashes (2-2) went on a 6-0 run in the final 30 seconds and outscored the Cowgirls 19-12 in the fourth quarter to help secure the victory. Katie Shumate scored four of the final six, had nine in the final frame and finished with a game-high 23 points. It is the first true road win for Kent State over a Power 5 opponent since a 2004 victory at Syracuse.
Kent State Sweeps Three-game Home Stand; Jacobs Named MAC Player of the Week
The Kent State Men's Basketball team extended their record this week with a 88-59 victory against Chicago State. This will be the first time the team has been 5-0 since 2019-20 when the team went 20-12 overall.
Redshirt Senior Malique Jacobs was also named Mid-American Conference Player of the Week after leading the team with three great performances last week. Jacobs recorded a single-game steal record of 10, surpassing Chris Singletary's ’12 record in 2008 with eight steals.
Kent State looks to win their sixth-straight game as they go on the road to face The College of Charleston on Wednesday, Nov. 23, at 6 p.m in TD Arena.
Enrique Munguia captured his second title of the season at the 44th Navy Classic, headlining seven wrestlers who placed on Saturday.
Munguia went 4-0 on the day and started off his run as the classic's top seed in dominant fashion with an 18-3 tech fall against Brodie Porter of the Citadel. After a 10-1 major decision in round two, he defeated Chase Barlow of Bucknell 8-3. Barlow would wrestle back to claim eighth place. In the semi-finals, the Elyria native took down Bubba Wilson of No. 19 Nebraska, who would go on to finish fourth. In the title match, Munguia defeated Jordan Slivka of Ohio in a 3-0 shutout.
The 2023 Kent State Gymnastics schedule is out! Highlighted home contests include Western Michigan, Ball State and Central Michigan. Be sure to join Kent State Gymnastics for the “Beauty and the Beast” event with Kent State Wrestling on Sunday, Jan. 29, 2023. The MAC Center will also host this year’s Gymnastics MAC Championships Saturday, March 18, 2023.
