Kent State of Mind: Heidi Schultz - Always Connected
I always had tons of energy when I was a kid. And unfortunately for my parents, there were two of me. My twin sister Jordan and I were more than a little rambunctious as children, so getting us both involved in all kinds of sports and activities was key to wearing us out.
We played quite a bit of soccer when we were younger, but we moved to gymnastics as we got older. Competing at the Division I level was both of our goals, but we also knew we each had to go our separate ways once it was time to go to college.
Congratulations to Travis Shaw, who recently wrapped up a professional career that began in 2011. Shaw played with the Red Sox, Brewers and Blue Jays and was inducted into the Kent State Varsity “K” Hall of Fame in 2021. Shaw was a Golden Flash during the 2009 - 2010 seasons.
You can see Travis’ full statement released on his social media account Monday.

Ferri won his final three matches of the weekend including an impressive 7-6 decision over top-30 wrestler Tanner Jordan of No.17 South Dakota State. He blitzed the competition on Saturday, besting Virginia's Patrick McCormick before dominating his match with Matt Ricci of the Naval Academy.
